As promised in the December update the April 2009 Lottery funding availability has been examined and discussed with senior people there. Again the project does not meet the larger grant provider’s parameters. Primarily this is due to our need for capital funds rather than ongoing revenue funding. Where capital funding is available there is always the requirement for the project to provide 15 to 20% of costs themselves. Finally all the major funds are oversubscribed with grant bids that can show advantage to many more people per £ than we can, even at the most optimistic figures! This is exactly the same situation as last year when we came to view that the most likely source of funds for the project was from Planning Obligation (Section 106) Agreements.
This view was also shared by experienced Lottery providers in our latest discussions.
We can confirm that the project is on the Parish Councils target list for this type of funding and has been for a number of years. Part of the development at Salden Chase Newton Longville is within Mursley Parish boundary and would be a potential source for funding from a ‘106’ Agreement.
We also learnt last year that the Little Horwood Parish Plan had also shown a desire for a ‘redway’ from their village to Route 51. We sent some general information and advice on what we had established and asked if they saw advantage in a combined approach. As we had no response then and no reaction to another approach made in the last two months we are assuming they wish to proceed independently.
Very recently at the Winslow Local Area Forum which Gerry attended as a Parish Councillor a presentation was made about grant.net from which, and via Local Councils, information on grant providers could be found. We have looked at this and identified two possible providers. We have drawn these to the attention of Bucks C.C. and have asked the relevant people to look at them and then to consult with us on how an approach is to be made.
