Mursley Parish Web Site

Background: Set up following a mention in the Parish Plan. This project involves an enormous amount of work, and Sandra Doherty is fronting up the project. If you want further information or have a view you want to share with this group, please contact Sandra on doherty33@btinternet.com. A VDS is a statement prepared in conjunction with the Local Authority . This would recommend the design characteristics of new developments, individual buildings and changes to existing building that ideally had to be adhered to. It would seek to reflect important aspects of Mursley Village and local area architecture.

The Village Design Statement is now with the publishers, and will be uploaded onto the web site as soon as thie document has been published. We have decided to put a link on the home page under the Parish Plan heading so that it will be easy always to find the Statement. We are already able to upload a document detailing the back ground work and statistics, and this will be appearing shortly. Thanks to everyone who carried out the work on this valuable project.

The team are currently working on the final draft. The Development Council have sent their amendments, and once these are incorporated, there is no need to obtain further approval. It is hoped that the final version will be ready to go to print, both a hard copy and online, in January 2010. It has been a long hard road to success, but a worthwhile project, and the next step will be for a copy of the design statement to go out to every applicant for planning permission.

We are particularly pleased that this project, born out of the Parish Plan, is about to come to fruition.

The Village Design Statement is now ready for publication, but the group are waiting for final approval from the Council, unfortuately, due to a change of staff, this approval will not now happen until at least the end of October. It is hoped that there will be no major changes, and the final version of the Plan will be ready to publish on this web site soon after that date - watch this space!

Results from a questionnaire that was circulated with Parish Pump are being collated and the survey is still being worked on, being a somewhat larger task than originally envisaged, also a survey of the residential properties in the Parish (nr of habitable storeys, envelope material, roof covering, whether houses or bungalows, detached, semi detached, terraced etc) has been carried out, the results of which will hopefully be published on this site in due course.
