At a meeting held on 21st August, attended by most of those people who had expressed an interest in helping, after a wide ranging discussion, it was decided that due to a lack of a person or persons prepared to front up a focus group, together with the practical problems we faced in getting such a project off the ground, the project would have to be put on hold, for the time being at least. It was felt that we had explored every avenue available to us at this time in an attempt to try and fulfill the need/wish for a shop facility, something which was identified from the Parish Plan questionnaire; and we had support from both the Church and the Parish Council. So it is regretted that nothing further, for the moment at least, can be done. Our thanks to all those who have given support.
Village Shop
Background: Following interest shown by the parishioners who filled in the questionnaire, we ran a survey, in conjunction with the Parish Council. Response was disappointing, but we have identified a core of people interested in helping run some kind of shop facility in the village on a rota basis.

The Church are being supportive to the idea of holding such a facility in the Rectory Room, and we will shortly be holding a meeting with all concerned to discuss the next step. If you want an input, or wish to join this group, please email to parishplan@mursley.net.

A few more replies to the survey have filtered through, including one from the Vicar, who is happy to support this venture, both by encouraging his parishioners to use it, and by offering the rectory room as a facility. This is a most welcome development. We will be contacting everyone who offered to help with this facility, and putting a report in to the Parish Council, so that we can jointly consider the next step. Thank you to everyone who filled in the questionnaire, it is still not too late if you want to have your views taken into account, but please get your forms back to Alison or Barry as soon as possible.
